One step ahead

To begin: this is what happens with a few months off from activity and all productivity. In other news: I got the race machine built, although I have yet to ride it. It looks like some thing that could stir a bit of dust in the face of competitors, I suppose that relies heavily on me, though....
On to Training! This is a photo from the Big Cat (Garret Seacat) on the dam of John Redmond Reservoir, somewhere near Birlington, Ks. It was a bit breazy on this elevated, two mile stretch of level road. It is a good view of my calf...

And here, the photo includes all but 'G'. I'm on the right, Tim Moen pulling. Scotty O'mare, left, is putting the hurt on us.

Everyone put out the max they could on this windy day. We all took turns at being the limper. It was quite the struggle to keep up at times, then the energy just seemed to flow in. At the end, I put forth a burning effort to claim the sprint to city limits. I knew the only way was to use my big ring advantage, as I was the only rider on an actual road bike. Good to be finished with the first century of the year.
Today, was a huge rest day, as I struggled for time to spin. I will have to 'wake' the legs first thing in the morning. But for now... sleep.
